Funeral service for the patriarch of our family was yesterday,✝️his wife had passed away nine months earlier. Now they’re reunited. I told the family her first words to him were, “Honey, what took you so long?” Father, separation from our loved ones is so hard. We thank You for the glad reunion waiting for us, for those in sadness. Please reassure them of “a glad reunion day”, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Making a list of people to pray for, 😕there are so many with health and other issues that I can’t remember them all, but we have a Heavenly Father who knows all needs. He keeps the door to His throne room propped open 24/7, and I’ve been in a lot recently✝️. As we begin a new week, I don’t know what the day holds, but I know who holds the day.🙏 Father, please help us, don’t let life overwhelm us, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Our family circle is getting smaller.😕 The patriarch of the family has passed away. It’s been a tough year for his sons; their mother passed away about a year ago. The old song came into my mind: “Will the circle be unbroken…in the sweet by and by…there’s a better home awaiting in the sky”. Father, we lift up those in sorrow. Please comfort them, and at the end of our way give us a home in heaven, we ask in Jesus’ name, amen.

On my way to my home town of Ideal, I go once a month for the Ideal market, but really to see family, friends and immerse in memories.🎉 “Precious memories, how they linger, how they ever flood my soul”! Father, we thank You for the “Precious Memories”. In this world they help sustain us and encourage us.🙏 Father, we ask for courage to make it another day, amen.

Worship this morning at Blackshear Villas, I was worried I might get “shut out” again because of the virus. We have a great time of worship. The staff, the ladies are so gracious; they “put up” with my preaching, singing (bless them); they even laugh at my jokes! Father, thank You for giving us opportunities to worship You, to reach others. We can’t do it without You.🙏 Amen!

One of the men in our church sings “Mercy Walked In”. That’s what happened to me. I have no defense. Satan brought me to the court room. I was helpless, and that is when the blood was applied that covered all my sin. The Father promises in Isa. 43:25 & Heb. 8:22 that He would remember our sins against us no more! Need something to shout about? Here it is: our sins are forgiven, amen.

Got an enemy? Someone who as we say in the south “done you wrong”? Jesus, our Lord and Savior, tells us in Matthew 5:14 to love our enemies and to pray for our persecutors. I can tell you from personal experience that it sets you free. Jesus prayed for those who were nailing Him to the cross. Can we do any less? Father, we pray for all our adversaries, that they will be saved, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Up early for coffee and prayer time with the men, I watched Bro. Rick Smarr help talk a young man down from a water tower. The man was threatening to jump; Satan is at work trying to destroy this family.🙏 Thank You, Father, he is safe!❤️ Father, please be a fence around our families, defend them against Satan, our mortal enemy, and help us resist him, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Drive up blessing on yesterday, a young lady (classmate of our son) showed up with a tub of sheet music that her late mom had collected. They wanted Phillip to have it. Let’s keep our eyes and our hearts open; God may have unexpected blessings for us.❤️ Our son can’t wait to get his hands on that music. Father, thank You for waking us up and starting us on our way. What a blessing, amen.

Every day I learn of someone I know who either has the virus or has been exposed. It is a world wide plague. I’m not a prophet or the son of a prophet, but Jesus said in Matthew 24:7 and Luke 21:4 there would be plagues, pestilences in the end times. As the song says, “I can almost hear the Father say, ‘Son, go and get My children’”. The midnight cry may be sooner than we think. Are you ready? Amen.

The International Mission Board (IMB) estimates that over 155 thousand die daily without Christ. Oh my, how eternally tragic;😥 what can we do? We can pray, support our missionaries, reach out to someone we know (we all know someone who needs Christ as Savior). We are all called to do this. Father, help us share Christ, today, before it’s too late, amen.

Our daughter made a peach cobbler last nite!🎉😇 Isn’t it amazing how little things can bring us so much joy😇. There have been great moments and we’re so thankful for them, but when she brought that cobbler out of the oven, bubbling in its own juices, I grabbed a bowl and spoon.❤️ Father, today help us pause and enjoy the small moments of joy that You bring into our lives, in Jesus’ name, amen. I’m headed back to the kitchen.😇

The TV ad offered “a concise guide to the end of the world”. We don’t need it. We’ve got the Revelation especially chapters 20 and 21. Revelation 20:12 states, “And I saw the dead, small and great standing before God…another book was opened, the Lamb’s book of Life”. Is your name there? It can be!🙏 Father, thank You for writing our names down in Your book, amen.

Within 5 minutes yesterday I learned of two Christian ladies with cancer. Oh this virus is horrible, but the mention of the big “C” makes our heart race. Then on the heels of that I heard an awesome testimony of God’s mercy, grace and deliverance! I plan to share that on Sunday in the service. Come in person or join us on Facebook. Father, we lift up all those who need Your healing. We pray that they could “take up their beds and walk”. Amen.

On the Mount of Transfiguration and at His baptism, the Father declared, “This is My Son in whom I am well pleased”! Jesus is the Real Thing, for our today, our eternity, thank You Father, amen.
