Embrace the Technology for Christ

Looking everywhere for a newspaper and then my daughter said, “Dad, it’s the 21st century! Here, use my I Pad.” That fly never knew what hit him!๐Ÿ˜… Technology is difficult for some of us, but we can embrace it and reach people for Christ in ways we never imagined. Rev. 21:5: “The One who sat on the throne said, ‘Behold, I make all thing new!’” Amen!

Repentance Starts with Me

Caught just a glimpse of the news (I don’t watch it anymore). Oh my it was all bad.๐Ÿ™  Father, we’ve made a “mess” of things. We ask for healing, deliverance and that we might repent and turn back to You. You’ve promised that if we do You will heal our land and forgive us (2nd Chronicles 7:14). Let the repentance begin with me, amen.

Rise Up and Walk

Our lives are now defined by doctor appointments and medical tests. I’m not complaining;๐Ÿ˜‡ we are blessed in this rural area with awesome medical services. Father, we thank You for the healers You have blessed us with, but we remember that only You can say “rise up and walk!” We lift up those that need Your healing touch today, amen.

Sing Unto the Lord

Our choir rehearsed last evening for the first time in over a year. I sat and listened, sung quietly under my breath (off key). Oh, it was an answered prayer, a moment of great joy.๐ŸŽ‰ Psalm 96 reminds us “oh sing unto the Lord a new song, sing unto the Lord, all the earth”. My singing is mostly “joyful noise”, but Father, we sing praises to You! Amen.

Be a Great Neighbor

Door bell blessing yesterday, a young man (a neighbor’s grandson) stood there with a sack of tomatoes, and then he ran and got us two cantaloupes.๐ŸŽ‰ We’ve got some great neighbors (wish they had some๐Ÿ˜…). Jesus said, “When you’ve done unto the least of these, you’ve done unto Me”. Father, thank You, thank You!โœ๏ธ Worship today, amen!

Because We Know Jesus

Praying this morning for several families who have recently “lost” loved ones.๐Ÿ™ No, wait - they haven’t “lost” them; they know exactly where they are.โค๏ธ Because they knew Jesus as Lord and Savior, they are in His presence. Our son sings “Look for me at Jesus’ feet…not on the streets of gold or by the gates of pearl, but at Jesus’ feet”. โœ๏ธ Oh families, we have tears, but soon, very soon, we will see our loved ones again. Can I get a loud amen?

A Selfish Prayer

Ever feel helpless, hopeless, hapless? Seems every time my phone rings someone else is ill. I have family, church family, and friends sick; some are desperately ill. I visited a friend whose wife is in ICU. We hugged, and we prayed. I have a selfish prayer now. Lord, please come back, raise all the righteous dead in Christ and take us home with You, we ask in Jesus’ name, amen.

Tick Tock

Tick tock…the clock counts off the seconds of our lives(clocks don’t make any noise now๐Ÿ˜‡). When I was young I thought I had forever, it went by so swiftly. Now in the twilight of my years, I am so aware and thankful for God’s deliverance and forgiveness. As I face eternity, I have the only thing I need, His precious blood that He shed for us.๐Ÿ™ Let’s make the most of this moment of life, use it wisely for Him, amen.

Keep the Baptismal Waters Busy

Back “in the day” in Detroit, a man was saved and baptized in a church there. On Monday morning, he carried back all the tools and materials he had stolen from the car plant where he worked and asked his boss for forgiveness. His boss contacted Henry Ford as to what they should do. Mr. Ford wired back “dam up the Detroit River and baptize everyone in the city!!” Oh my, Father, we pray the baptismal waters will be busy and that Your Holy Spirit could break through before it’s too late! Amen.

Give Us Courage

Men and women met together last night for the first time in over a year. A young couple shared their testimony. It was awesome. They’re sharing Jesus with people of a different culture. Will we share Him with friends, family, the ones in the checkout line? He told us to, “Go unto all the world.” Give us courage Father, amen.

Forgive Each Other

God has to slap me on my “hard head” to get my attention. There were some folks I had stopped praying for…I believed they had “done me and my family wrong”. I read His command in Ephesians 4: “be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you.” I fell on my knees. I lift them up each morning. And God is answering other prayers, try it.๐Ÿ™ It worksโœ๏ธ. It’s Gods command, amen.

Happy Fatherโ€™s Day

Teacher to Sunday school class,”Let’s draw a picture of what we think God looks like.” One picture looked like a super hero complete with cap, another resembled a rainbow, one little girl wrote, “I don’t know what God looks like, so I just drew a picture of my daddyโค๏ธ”. Happy Father’s Day guys.๐ŸŽ‰ Father, we lift all the daddies up to You, help us to be what daddies are supposed to be, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Weโ€™re Back

Look for Lake Blackshear Baptist Church in the watermelon parade. Our theme: “We’re Back๐Ÿ˜‡”. We’re loud; we’re colorful.๐ŸŽ‰Covid taught us some lessons: not to take worship for granted, there’s more than one way “to skin a cat”(our worship streaming), and we learned again that He is God๐Ÿ™. Father, thank You for teaching us, help us use these lessons wisely, amen.

Donโ€™t Rust Out

I have a busy day. My wife has a scan; I have to visit a lady at the nursing home; I have worship service at a personal care home, then we have to decorate church float for the parade.๐Ÿ˜‡ We don’t want to “rust out”. We want to wear out! Father, thank You for another day of life, help us use it wisely for You. Father, on my heart, we lift up those in sorrow, whose loved ones have gone on. We pray to be with You, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Getting Back in the Groove

Getting back in the groove with the Watermelon Festival. I even dug out one my watermelon ties!๐Ÿ˜… Our church is back in the parade this Saturday. We’ll be colorful and loud๐Ÿ˜‡. Father, thank You for the community that we live and serve in.โœ๏ธ Help us to reach and serve. We want to be faithful. Thank You that Your church is back!! Amen.
