But God

As we watch the news, we can become so disheartened. Where is our country, our world going?😕 But God, love that two word phrase, 😇 back in Isaiah 65:17 reassured us, “see I will create new heavens and a new earth, the former things things will not be remembered”. Father, we trust You with our today and our eternity, amen.

Flag Day

Flag Day is not a major holiday; many are not aware of it.🇱🇷 The phrase that’s come into being says it all.: “We stand for the flag;🇱🇷 we kneel at the Cross✝️”. Father, thank You for our flag and what it means “one nation🇱🇷under God”.✝️ We ask for healing, deliverance, and that we would repent and come back to You🙏in Jesus’ name, God bless America.🇱🇷 Amen.

This Is a Good Day

With my sister and brother-in-law for the opening of the Ideal market, I had fun seeing old friends, making new ones, and listening to their pastor share about his youth (served in the Korean War🇱🇷). It was a good day. Father, this is a good day, a day set aside to worship You. I pray that Your Holy Spirit would guide, lead us today. Thank You for saving us✝️. Amen!🙏

Over My Pay Grade

Engineer friend told me that a train with 200 cars...that the locomotive could move 100 feet before the last car would move an inch! That is way over my “pay grade”😇. It’s just like how the Lamb of God could die for a sinner like me; it’s also over my “pay grade” again. The answer is in John 3:16: “for God so loved!!” Father, thank You for Your love and grace..over my “pay grade”, but thank You, in Jesus’ name, amen.

The Day The Rains Came

The day the rains came is our message for Sunday. The people in Noah’s day had 120 years of grace; they ignored it. This is our moment of grace; God has a plan and purpose for each moment. It’s our moment of grace; please don’t ignore or waste it. Sound like preaching? I plead guilty! More than anything, I want all to be on board. Father, thank You for this moment of grace, help us to grasp it, in Jesus’ name, amen.

We Lift Up Our Families

Our son’s birthday is today!🎉Like all parents, we’re thankful and proud of our children. We’re thankful they’re all involved in music ministry, and they get along well as siblings. That’s enough parental bragging.😁 Father, we lift up all families to You; they are the building blocks for our churches, for everything. Please encourage them in worship. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen. It was God who created the family, they belong to Him.🙏

Don’t Be Afraid to Pray

He woke me up and started me on my way!! I have been reflecting on how blessed I am. If you hear me complaining, give me a swift kick in my “back side”!  In the past year, I have become so aware of God answering prayers. One of the latest was for rain. My son-in-law called yesterday; he was excited that he was getting rain on his crops. I smiled and whispered “thank You Father”. Don’t be afraid. Pray, ask in Jesus’ name. Our Father wants to hear from us, amen.

We’ve Found Grace

The Old Testament is a winking blinking arrow sign pointing us to Jesus Christ. The New Testament has some awesome, beautiful verses that comfort and inspire us. The 23rd Psalm is a scripture that I have often shared with families in times of sorrow, but how about Genesis 6:8: “But Noah found grace in the Eyes of the Lord!” Lord, thank You that we have found grace in Your Eyes, that’s all we need, made possible through the Blood of Jesus! Amen, thank You, we’ve found grace!!

In the Name of Jesus

Looked out at the folks who gathered to worship yesterday, I was overcome by looking at a multitude of answered prayers. I remembered Jesus’s promise in John 14:14, “If you ask anything in My Name, I will do it!” I had prayed that God would speak to someone to begin to worship. They’ve become faithful. There were many other answered prayers. Praying in Jesus’ name means lifting up a prayer that He would sign His name to.🙏 Father, in Jesus’ name we lift those who need to be saved, to be healed, amen and amen!

Need a Job?

I have a dear friend, “Ms. Dolly”. She is 85 and goes to work every day.❤️ Need a job? The Father has multiple openings; He needs folks to knock on doors, to teach, to reach, to call on the phone (encouragers), to pray. There are plenty of openings, so apply today. Acceptance is guaranteed! Pay? “Well done thou good and faithful servant!”✝️ Amen?

The Reality of Heaven

Summer drive through for all children at the portico of the church this morning. We have lots of goodies, Bible study items to give from 9-11 AM. The message tomorrow is “A matter of life and death”, the reality of heaven. We have graphic depictions from those who say they’ve been there in Heaven. Father, we trust You with our today and our eternity, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Keep An Ear Out

Scary time last night, my wife fell again.🙏 She’s okay✝️, but it’s a reminder that for us “older folks” that falls are our number one hazard. Father, as our days are numbered, help us to use the time wisely, to remember You created us for Your purpose, and to live out our days wisely in worship and service to You. Father, we are keeping an ear out listening for the trumpet sound. I ask that Your Holy Spirit break through to those who are “lost” before it is too late, amen.

Do You Have a Reservation?
“In My Father’s House”, my message this Sunday is all about the reality of Heaven. When my sister’s grandson was very small, she had to help care for him. One day, while she was changing his clothes, he pointed to a picture on a shelf and asked, “who are they?” She thought he pointing to me and Elizabeth. She said, “that’s uncle Phil and Aunt Liz.” “No”, he said, “them”. She realized he was pointing to a picture of our mother and father. They had been gone years before he was born. Her grandson said, “they came to see me!” My sister said she almost lost it. She had prayed and asked God to send them to watch over him. So make of this what you want. l’m just sharing what a little boy told his grandmother. Heaven is real. Do you have a reservation? Amen?

God Created the Family

Trip to our farm with my “baby” daughter, she spotted an old bookcase I had built in ag shop when I was 15.😇 My sister gave it to her, and she’s putting in her home.❤️ It never entered my thoughts those years ago about anything like this happening. Yes, I had tears. Family, before the temple, the synagogue, and the church, God created the family. Father, please bless, heal the families, thank You for them, amen.
