Been watching the beautiful full moon the past few days. A song from my ‘DJ’ days ran across my mind: “There’s a moon out tonight”. Do you remember?😇 My mind went to Genesis 1:16-18, where the Creator God made the sun and the moon to rule over the day and the night. The cosmos didn’t just happen. It was the direct creation of God (sorry Carl Sagan). Today, let’s celebrate His creation; we are part of it. We are a “living soul”, the only one of his creation that can worship Him; let’s do it, amen? The message today is lessons that COVID taught us. View on our Facebook page or website.🙏

Psalm 137: “We have hanged our harps on the willows by the rivers of Babylon; we cannot sing the Lord’s song in a strange land”. Oh we live in strange, dark, dangerous times. Mama taught us to say this blessing each time we ate: “God is great, God is good, let us thank Him for our food, for by His hand we are all fed”. It still sounds good. We even said it in the lunchroom at school; our teacher led us (the ACLU would go nuts😅). Father, thank You, thank You, in Jesus’ name, for everything, amen.

Get to meet one of the International Tribal missionaries today.🎉 In the jungles of Bolivia they have established churches and led many to Christ. Our church has supported them for many years. Jesus, commanded us to go unto all the world, and when all the world has heard then the end will come. Father, we lift all who are preaching and teaching Your Word, please watch over them, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Facebook asks “what’s on your mind?”, and my answer is coffee and prayer time with the men this morning. It is an awesome time of worship. We invite any man to stop by on the way to work, have a prayer and a cup of coffee. We want to be the church “without walls”. We don’t talk about how many fish we’ve caught or our golf game. We just pray and praise the Father.🙏 Father, thank You for the moments You give us for praise and worship, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Awesome day at worship...preacher count...over 100 in both services combined. Folks who had not attended in a year were there. My wife was one of them.🎉 A grandfather was over joyed when his grand daughter, who lives in Texas, surprised him.❤️ Yes, we were on shouting ground!🎉 Father, please keep us safe, help us to worship, serve You, and reach many in Jesus’ name, amen.

Talking with my sister on the phone, I was waxing eloquent on some subject (I’ve got a big mouth), she got very quiet. I thought we’d lost connection. Then she spoke up, “l’m sorry. I fell asleep!”😅 The message today is “l am the light of the world”.🙏 It will be short, so please don’t fall asleep!😅 Father, thank You for sending Jesus to be our “light” in a dark and dangerous world, amen.

Watching the rain falling on my patio and thinking how advanced we are, cell phones, men on the moon, and vaccines for the virus in a year’s time. Boy, we’re smart, and the rain kept falling. Father, please help us, keep us humble, remembering that only You can say “peace, be still”. Help us trust You with everything, amen - as we watch the rain keep falling.

For the first time since the COVID, our ladies met for a brunch yesterday. They planned outreach for our children and youth and for the Annie Armstrong Easter offering. One of our deacons and I were in the church office. Down the hall we could hear peals of laughter.😇 We smiled and rejoiced with them.🎉 Father, thank You for the strong women of Your church, please help them, encourage them. Satan take warning; the women are back.❤️🙏 Amen.

Some times Satan confronts me with the depths of the sins I have committed. That’s what he delights in - bringing pain, despair into our lives. Then the Holy Spirit speaks and reminds me that the precious Blood of Jesus has erased them, and He remembers them against us no more!! Don’t know about you, but I needed that reassurance this morning. “What a Mighty God we serve”. (If you know the chorus, sing it with me.) Amen and amen.

Another pop up blessing at Hardee’s, I was pulling up to the drive thru, and a car came from the other direction. I waved him on first. When I got to the window, the young lady said, “Your order has been paid. The young man ahead of you appreciated you letting him go first. He’s running late”.🎉 Small gestures can mean a lot. Father, help us to be kind, considerate and not demand our “rights”. Let others go first, amen.

Fourth grade, I passed a note to the little girl in the desk in front of me. It read, “I like you; do you like me? Check yes or no”. She checked no!😅 Read John 3:16 again, the Father always checks yes. In fact, we can cross out the word “world” and write our name in.❤️ Jesus did it for us on the cross; He checked “Yes” - I love you, amen.

Happy Valentine’s Day!❤️ The Beatles had it right, “all you need is love”. I read 1st John 3:1 NIV. “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God”! It’s a love that does not demand anything in return. If we’re good He loves us, if we’re bad He still loves us, His greatest desire is that we be in a right relationship with Him through His Son.
