When Normal Returns

My wife and I get our COVID shots today🙏. My prayer is that all will be healed, that all will have access to the “shots”. When “normal” returns how will we be different? Will we resume our old life styles? Father, I ask that our life style will be centered on You. I’ve learned that I can’t even walk with out You. Give us a new normal with Christ at the center, amen.

I Love Mondays

Back in the day...long ago, as a morning DJ, on Monday I always played “Monday, Monday, how I hate blue Monday". 🤗Now, I love Mondays. Monday's another week of opportunities. The old saying says, “plan your work and work your plan, but be ready for the pop-ups”. Be ready to seize the opportunities God will send our way. Father, give us moments to share Your love with others; thank You for the “pop-ups”, in Jesus' name, amen.

One Nation Under God?

Reading through the book of Daniel for the umpteenth time. I truly believe that many of his prophecies are coming to pass. Read chapter nine and insert America there🙏. Our trouble is because we are no longer “one nation under God”. Oh, Father, we repent. Please heal us, we ask in Jesus' name, amen.

The Best Is Yet to Come

The best is yet to come. It's so easy to be discouraged with the virus sweeping through our community, the political unrest, crime, anarchy.m, but I read 1st Corinthians 2:9, "But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, nor entered into the heart of man (women), the things which God has prepared for them that love Him”. The best is yet to come. Father, please come take Your children home to be with You, and raise all the dead in Christ. Amen.

A Good Man, Life and Death

Funeral today for a good man, my message “a good man, a good life, a good death”. It's good because he knew Jesus. He didn’t just know about Him, but he had personal relationship with Him. This man served his community, his family, his Lord - a good man, a good life, a good death. At the end of our earthly journey, may they say the same of us. Father, we ask for Your peace and Your presence as we live out today, in Jesus' name, amen.

Pray - There’s No Waiting

I pray all the time; I'm so glad we can always get into the Throne Room. The line is never busy. We don’t have to listen to inane music and a voice that assures us that our call is important and will be answered in the order it was received😇, and the wait time is approximately 10 minutes, and if we would like press two, a “rep” will call us back! No, when we pick up the phone, go on our knees, the Father answers !🙏 Let's pray often today; no waiting!! Amen!🙏

Jumpstart Your Day

Every morning following my first prayer I recite this verse (Romans 8:1), "here is now therefore no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus!”, and in Hebrews, He says that He will not remember our sins! Wow! What an awesome God we serve. His blood doesn’t just cover our sins; it erases them! It’s Monday; we have lots to do, but that will jump start your day, amen.

Jesus Didn’t Stay in the Manger

Ok back to the daily grind. The “holidays” are over🥲. Important to remember that Jesus didn’t stay in the manger. He grew up to fulfill God’s plan and purpose. He became our Saviour on the cross. Now in the “daily grind” let us proclaim His name to all; don’t be afraid of those immersed in “political correctness”. Without hesitation let’s proclaim the name of Jesus, in the workplace, Walmart, at the golf course, and wherever we find ourselves. Amen, amen!!

Call on the Name of the Lord

Children gave me a new phone, and I'm still learning🥲 how to use it. We live in a world of hi-tech stuff, much of which is over my “pay grade”. I try to study and read God’s word everyday. Some of it is too deep for me🙏, but this much I know that anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved!(Romans 10:13). Father, we thank You for bringing us out of the depths of degradation, for cleansing our hearts, for saving us! My prayer is today that Your Holy Spirit could break through to those who are lost before it’s too late, in Jesus' name, amen.

Welcome to 2021

Welcome to 2021🎉! We made it. Many others did not. Part of my morning prayer time is remembering families who are in sadness. I've preached 30 funerals this past year. The message Sunday is "Time is running out”. Remembering what God has done in the past - spills over into believing God for our future. Father, we commit ourselves to You for the new year, help us, we trust You alone for our new year. Amen.

Have a Joyful New Year

Late with my post because I overslept. I thought after 60 years of getting up at 4:30 that you’d cut me a little slack😄. It's New Year's Eve. I’d wish you a “Happy New Year”, but happiness is dependent on circumstances. So, I hope you have a “Joyful New Year”. Joy depends on being in a right relationship with the Father through the Son. Father, whatever the new year brings, we hold to You. As the song says, "we can’t even walk without You”. Amen.

Remembering What God Has Done

Read this recently: "Remembering what God has done in the past, spills over into believing God for our future”. On the cusp of a new year, there will be joy and pain; we know this from past experiences. So Father, please help us remember all that You have brought us through in the past and gives us hope for the future. We cannot make it without You, in Jesus name, amen.

Take Your Children Home

Memory day on the “farm” yesterday with my sister and brother in law. Had tears as I stood at the graves of our parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles etc. Lord, please come and raise all the dead in Christ and take Your children home as You promised in 1st Thessalonians 4 and 1st Corinthians 15🙏🙏. Lord, we are prepared, we are ready, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Savor Every Moment

Last of the children on their way home, it was too good and too short. I'm headed for the family farm today to reconnect with my “roots”. You can get the “boy” of the country, but you can't get the country out of the “boy”. I will visit the church where I first heard about Jesus and visit and pray at family graves. Such sweet memories. Please savor every moment, they fly away so quickly.❤️Father, thank You, for the precious moments, in Jesus' name, amen.

Let Not Your Hearts Be Troubled

Another beautiful chilly day and the day of worship🎉. More reports of sickness, the virus, cancer, heart disease, there seems to be no end to it. It's so easy to get discouraged. I remember what Jesus said in John 14: "Let not your hearts be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in me”. Father, we claim Your promise, that You would never leave us, and that You would give us peace. We ask in Jesus name, amen.
