A Wake Up Call

Ever had a wake up call? In the army, they flip on the lights and blow a whistle. Anyone who didn’t fall out - they would kick over the bunk! Saul got a wake up call on the Damascus road. God knocked him flat of his back...beginning a life of awesome ministry. I've had a few wake up calls myself. Have you? Praying for a few who need a wake up call. Father, do what is necessary to get their attention. Amen! The message Sunday is "saved on the road". Have an interesting day🎉!

Father, Help Us

Our son called us yesterday to share that his ensemble had been chosen to sing for the state school superintendents meeting. We've bored everyone to tears telling them about it. Like all parents we are proud of our children’s achievements. We are thankful most of all that all are saved and are active in their churches. Father, help us reach the families and to tell them about You, Your love, Your saving grace, and about Jesus. Help us please. It is critically important that we do, in His name, amen.

God’s Weaving Hand

Carried my wife for flu and pneumonia shots yesterday. On our way out we met a young couple with a precious baby. They let ooh and aww over her for a bit. The psalmist said in 139:13: “In my mother’s womb, Thou didst weave me”. We are a result of God's weaving Hand. He has a purpose and plan for each life that He has created. Encourage young parents. It's a tough job they have. Father, please watch over all the babies, the unborn babies. Please protect them in Jesus' name, amen.

The God of the Mountain

Awesome morning of worship as four people came to be part of the church family. One was a young man that was saved. That’s about as good as it gets. This old country preacher was moved to tears of joy. The Holy Spirit spoke to me this morning saying, "it's easy to praise me in the good times, but can you, will you trust and praise Me in the hard times?" We all have experienced those trying times. The song says that “the God of the mountain is God in the valley”. Father, help us to love and serve You regardless, amen.

Distracted Living

Awesome festival at our church! Thank you all who came and all who worked and ministered😇! Distracted driving and distracted walking is dangerous. We are so immersed in our phones that we don’t see danger. Distracted living is when we are focused on the secondary things: getting ahead, having fun. Nothing wrong with these things unless they become our primary focus. Jesus taught that we are to follow Him. He is aware of our needs. His eye is on the sparrow, and we know He watches us all the time. It took me a while to learn this. Father, today help us not to be distracted in our living and to focus on You, amen.

Trust the Father

Our fall festival is today; it's an outreach for families and children, and rain is in the forecast. We trust the Father and are content in His will and purpose. Job said,"even if He slay me yet will I trust Him." That is awesome faith! The message tomorrow is "who do you say that I am?” It's a question each of us must answer. He’s more than just a great teacher or man. If that’s all you believe or know about Him, you’re dead wrong. The emphasis is on "dead”. Peter had it right. He is the Son of God, the Messiah. Is He that to you? Sorry, preaching again. We’re at Cordelia Manor for worship at 10. We enjoy that so much. Have a blessed day. Amen.

Who Do You Say That I Am?

Who do you say that I am? It’s the question we must all answer. Simon Peter nailed it with "You are the Christ, the Messiah, the anointed One of God”. But who do we say that He is? Some say He was a good man, a great man, a great teacher, that He had a special relationship with God, but they don’t believe that He is the Son of God. To be almost right about Jesus is to be totally wrong! Who do you say He is? He is the Son of God He is my Lord and Saviour. Amen!

Be in a Right Relationship with God

On my way to Dublin VA. I thank God for them; they have been a blessing to me. It's a busy weekend with worship at Cordelia Manor, worship at Blackshear Villa & the fall festival. In Revelation 20:1, when God sends an angel to chain Satan, He doesn’t send Michael or Gabriel. He sends an unnamed angel demonstrating His absolute power and authority over Satan and over everything. Don’t you want to be in a right relationship with This God? We can, but only through His Son (John 14:6). May your day be filled with joy and opportunity, amen.

Trust God

Chilly this a.m. Our steps are a little brisker. Two ladies having surgery from our church. We are trusting God for healing. As a matter of fact, we must trust our all powerful God for everything. Without Him we are helpless...with Him we can face life with confidence that no matter what occurs He has charge. Nothing, no force, even Satan can keep Him from fulfilling His plan and purpose. His Son cried from the cross, after evil men under the direction of Satan had tried to thwart His plan, Jesus cried out “it is finished!”. He fulfilled the Fathers will; the plan of salvation is complete. Sorry didn’t mean to preach, but it was on my heart. Have a blessed Wednesday! Amen.

The Birthright

We had a great brotherhood meeting last night. So thankful for the men in our church and their ministry. Esau sold his birthright; as first born the right to lead in worship (that’s our birthright men to lead), and encourage our families in worship. It is such a joy on Sunday morning to see families. Their make up may be varied, but they are families. Father, we pray for families - that are father led, mother led - help them, encourage them to worship and serve You. We pray for those who are struggling please help them. We ask in Jesus' name, amen.

Thank God It’s Monday

The song said "blue Monday, how I hate blue Monday". But I love Mondays, it’s the start of another week. The Father gives us another opportunity to celebrate life-the life we have in Him. Oh is every thing perfect? No, but nothing happens outside His providence. He uses everything, the good, the bad to accomplish His purposes. Father, we do lift up those who are struggling, and we thank You for another Monday. Amen.

Surely God Is Able

Lots of rain! Thank You, Father. I heard that one tornado was seen. Thank You for keeping us; thank You for everything. We could not make it without You. Our utter dependence is on You Father. The message this morning is "surely God is able”. It's about His omnipotent power. Would you worship this omnipotent God this morning? Your day will be better because of it. Father, this is Your day. Help us to use it wisely...that someone would be saved today. We ask in Jesus' name, amen.

God’s Ultimate Goal

Time marches on. God's plan and purposes move toward His ultimate goal. It's way over my “pay grade”, but this I do know that the hour is coming for His return to call forth all those who have died in Christ. A pastor friend, known and loved by all, passed away Friday. He was escorted by Jesus (John 14:1-6) to be be presented to the Father, who gave him the highest accolade “well done thou good and faithful servant”. Jesus, please return soon with the great shout and the trumpet blast to call forth all your servants. Amen.

KOA-Journey

Sign near our home says KOA.  It means "Journey". It reminded me that we are on a journey called life. It has a physical beginning with many twists and turns and a physical ending, but our spiritual being, our spirit, our soul, has no ending. In Rev.1:18 - we learn of the One who makes this a reality. "I am the the First and the Last; I have the keys of Hades and death.” We have this day; Father help us make the most of it. If You call us today, we are prepared through the “First and the Last”. Amen!

On Cloud Nine

On cloud nine! Two young people I’ve been reaching out to are planning to worship with us this weekend🎉. Opportunities are everywhere. Father, take the blinders off my eyes; help me see those who need to worship and serve you. They just need a little encouragement. Visitation is tonight. Please open doors and hearts. Father, thank You for every thing. Without You, we are helpless. Amen.
