God Knows All

Another free cup of coffee🎉. A young man blessed me. I want him to come worship with us🙏. Nothing happens outside of God’s knowledge and province. I have a heel spur. It hurts “pretty good” as we say. Nothing like the pain that others are experiencing, but it gives me a point of reference to their pain. Father, this morning we do pray for those in physical pain. I ask for their deliverance. Thank You for the little pain You gave me so I could relate. Thank You for loving us, in Jesus’ name, amen.

God Is Omnipotent

God is omnipotent! We know this...that He is all powerful. We are so aware of our human limitations that it’s difficult for us to understand a being that has no limitations. The only things God cannot do are those that are contrary to His nature. His nature is love. He will always act out of love...always seeking to redeem and call us to Him. Today let’s give thanks that we serve an unlimited God who loves us. That knowledge will make our Monday. Amen.

What a Day That Will Be

Great joy yesterday evening with my sister and brother-in-law came by for a visit. We talk on the phone each day, but an in person visit was wonderful. So many family members and friends are gone. We miss them so much. I long for the day when we can sit down in heaven and talk the ages through. Pain, sickness, disappointment, death will be no more. Oh Father, what a day glorious day that will be. Come have a sample today. Worship with us at Lake Blackshear Baptist. Amen.

Be Filled with the Holy Spirit

Worship at the manor this morning and then a funeral for someone I don’t know, but the Father does. I ask for His help to fill me with His Holy Spirit. I can’t do it without Him. We - who belong to Him - are absolutely dependent on Him. We never know how much we need Jesus until we realize He’s all we have. Father, we pray now for those who need You and don’t know where to turn. Help us to tell them about You in Jesus’ name, amen.

Thank Someone

Great night of visitation last night! Left one singing🎉! I thank all those who serve us - especially at Flash and Hardee’s. They have tough jobs - dealing with dozens of folks each day. Some of the folks have bad attitudes, but they still smile and serve them. I’ve gotten to know them (l’m a regular customer). It's easy to complain when they make a mistake in our order (remember they’re not perfect the way we are...ha ha). Today, let’s thank them; say a prayer for them. The message Sunday is “all about angels”. Have an awesome Friday. Thank you Father for everything, amen.

We Have Hope

Physical death is a reality we must all face. How often have we mourned a loved one, a friend, knowing that we will be reunited in heaven...that we do not sorrow as those who have ‘no hope’? This morning this is on my heart to share with you, “let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself, that where I am, there you may be also, and where I go you know, and the way you know. Thomas said unto Him, Lord, we know not where You go and how can we know the way? Jesus said unto him, I am the, way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by Me”. Amen. That's all we need on Thursday.

Lift Others Up

Ouch! Heel spur!! Thank you Dr. Littell and staff for helping me, but if this is the worst thing that happens to me, I’ve got it made. This morning, Father, we are aware of so many that are struggling physically, spiritually, emotionally. We lift them up for healing, deliverance, in Jesus’ name, amen. The message Sunday is “all about angels”. Come worship at Lake Blackshear Baptist.

Praise God for His Blessings

Reflected at 2 AM (not my conscience Jesus covered that with His blood) on how He has blessed our family with health, our children (all involved in music ministry), our little home. Oh my...Father, I ask You to help me preach, teach, teach in Your name. Has He blessed you with another day of life? Let's praise Him. Sing the old chorus “what a mighty God we serve, angels bow before  Him, heaven and earth adore Him, what a mighty God we serve”. Amen.

It Is Well with My Soul

Our daughter Amey is on her way back to Rome. We had her for two wonderful days. She sang in worship Sunday, and it was beautiful (of course I’m not biased😇). You can watch on our web site. The song was “It is well with My Soul”. We needed that as our hearts were still in turmoil over Mr. O.B.’s home-going. Father, thank You for another day of life, help us spend for You, amen.

Call on the Name of the LORD

Awesome worship yesterday as we said “so long”. ..not goodby...to my dear friend Mr. O.B. We will see you soon. The message today is “close ain’t good enough”. It's a basic message calling people to be saved and to be in a right relationship with the Father through the Son. The scripture tells us that anyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. It's not what we’ve done that will keep us out of heaven but what we’ve not done. Call on His name. Have you? Amen.

His Eye Is Still on the Sparrow

His eye is on the sparrow. I watched the sparrows last night as I was leaving the church where New Grace was setting up their equipment for Mr. O.B.’s funeral. On the Old Albany Hwy in the dark the low tire pressure light came on. Then flap, flap - flat tire. I cried out, “Lord, help us”! We called our guardian, the chairman of our deacons. He said, “I’m on my way”. Just then a car drove up. A family, on their way home, turned around came back to help us. The young lady recognized me. She lived close to us as a child, and get this the young man worked for a local tire company. He's a professional. He went and got his service truck, and didn’t want to take any money! He said, “the Lord told me to stop!!” His eye is on the sparrow. I know He watches us! Amen!🇱🇷

His Eye is on the Sparrow

Mr. O.B. sang it for years, “His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me”. Do you, do I, know this today? We can if we’re in a right relationship with the Father through the Son. That is the most important thing in our lives; He loves us; He will watch over us - who are worth more than many sparrows. I ask; I pray that today if you’ve not made that commitment, you would do it now (forgive me for preaching). Sunday’s message is “almost ain’t good enough” amen.

Homegoing

Stood at the bedside of a dear friend yesterday and watched him slip peacefully away to glory. His family, all great singers, sang the old hymns ( they let me sing too) as we stood at his bed side. It was a worship service. I could feel the presence of God in the room. Some of the nurses listening said they never had experienced that kind of death experience(they had been present for many deaths). No lesser a personage than Jesus, Himself came and escorted him into the presence of the Father.(I’ll say that at the funeral) read John 14. Jesus said He would return for us. My friend was ready. Amen!

God Is At Work in Our Lives

People ask me often if I miss being on TV. No. God has blessed me and given me so many opportunities in ministry. I did dream (nightmare?) the other night that I was interviewing a long line of people with no end. They just kept coming😊. I wanted to be in broadcasting even as a boy. God had other plans for me, but He used broadcasting to help me over come my shyness and help me with my communication skills. Looking back I see Him at work in my life. Today I want most of all to say thank you Jesus for dying for a sinner like me. Can you say thank you for the same thing? That will make our Wednesday. Amen.

Close Ain’t Good Enough

Message this Sunday is “close ‘ain’t’ good enough”. Paul testified to King Agrippa who was under conviction of the Holy Spirit. He put off talking to Paul again to a more “convenient” time. That time never came. We pray for people’s physical healing...we should, but we need to pray for salvation before it is too late! Father, help us share the good news of the gospel with all we meet. I am reaching out to a young man  now. Give me, us, the courage we need - in Jesus’ name, amen.
