Please Forgive Me

In our Sunday School lesson today, Joseph forgave his brothers for throwing him into a pit and selling him into slavery.✝️ On the cross, Jesus said, “Father, forgive them”. If anyone has wronged me, I don’t remember it, and I forgive you.🙏 And oh for those I have wronged, please forgive me!🙏 Father, as You have forgiven us, don’t let us harbor hate or resentment toward anyone, set us free from this tool of Satan, amen.

Make a Joyful Noise

Air got into our water lines so every time you opened a faucet, it went SQUANK!! The plumber came and fixed it. I was taking a shower, just singing away when my wife came to beat on the door. “What is it?”, I yelled. She said, “I thought the plumber repaired those pipes”.😅 Better watch this joyful noise guy. I’ll start singing.😇 I’ve got a lot to sing about. Do you? Let’s do it. Sing, “What a Mighty God, we serve!” Amen.

We Are Ready

Another Sunday morning, Father, help us be faithful and worship You. I pray that all the houses of true worship would be filled and we would lift our hands in praise. And Father, we pray that You would soon return for us. It’s been so long, and we want to go home with You.✝️ We long for the great shout and the trumpet’s blast. Please come, we are ready, amen.

Don’t Waste Time

Trying to sleep late😇, the cats came in and demanded attention!😅 Saturday used to be a day off. Now as I see my days slipping away, I try to make the most of it. I’ve been so blessed, so help me make the most of the days that I have remaining. Father, it’s Your time, help me use it wisely. I don’t want to waste it.✝️ Father, I lift up those in need of healing, please deliver them, amen.

Join Me in Prayer

Would you join me in this prayer? Father, we fall before You, asking for mercy, deliverance. We confess our sins; we are helpless, hopeless without You. On every hand there is violence, unrest, danger. Please help us to worship, to serve You. Bring us back where we have strayed. Please save us, we ask in Jesus’ name, amen.

God Use Us

Saw the huge full moon this morning, it reminded me of the beauty of God’s creation. As I went to the cross in our church to pray, I was reminded of His love and forgiveness. Oh, I needed this. I’m in deep prayer for several families in sorrow and for a faithful servant facing major health issues. I’m on the way to Montezuma to share with the Kiwanis club. Father, it’s Your day, use it, use us, amen.

Help Us Lord

Oh, we’re excited!🎉 Our son is bringing his Chorale to lead in our worship today.✝️ But so much has happened in the past few days, some long time prayers answered, but sorrow and tragedy have also occurred. We live in a fallen world. We long for the return of our Lord. In the mean time, help us to minister to those in need, in pain, in sorrow.✝️ Help us to share Jesus before it is too late, help us, please Father, amen. (Come worship today at Lake Blackshear Baptist Church.)

We Need a Reminder

Yesterday was a day of mixed emotions. I had several answered prayers, rejoicing, on cloud nine, and then calls reporting deaths, serious health issues. Oh, my Father, help us. Then last night, with two of our deacons, we visited with several long time faithful servants. We could see their faith, despite severe health issues, glowing in their faces. Oh Father, we need that, a reminder that this world and all of its troubles is not our final home, thank You, amen.

Guide Our Youth

Our son is bringing his Chorale in concert this Sunday to the Lake Blackshear Baptist Church. You’re invited🎉with a luncheon to follow. As all parents, we’re proud of our children (give us a moment, we’ll start bragging🙄). We thank God most of all that they’re involved in music ministry. Father, we lift up all young people, help them, guide them to be what You created them for, we ask in Jesus’ name, amen.

No More Tears

On the way home from a funeral, I got a call from a dear friend and former colleague. Through her tears, she told of a tragedy; her grandson’s wife had died unexpectedly. They have three small children (the oldest is six). I did all I could and that was to pray with and for them. I wanted to run home and hold my family tightly in my arms. All I could think of was Rev. 21:4: ”He will wipe away every tear.” Oh, Father, we lift up all those in pain and sorrow. Oh, I wish You would return soon, amen.

The Promise

I’m on my way to Butler with one of my Deacons to attend the funeral for the brother of one of our men. Life is like that with brief moments of happiness then hours of sorrow. We’re spiritual beings in a fallen, physical world. We hold to the promise: “I will never leave you or forsake you”. Thank You, Father, for Your blessings on us, amen.

Can’t Get Much Better

Can’t get much better than yesterday. We had a couple coming to be baptized to be part of His church.🎉 Then at the Deacon ordination, two men and their families were set aside for service in His church. Then, Bro. Don  Howell challenged us to never put out the fire!! Oh, it was a long day, but a good one.🎉 Father, today is Your day, help use it wisely, amen.

Deacons

Ordination service for two of our men called to the Deacon ministry.✝️ The scholars say ( I ain’t one) that those men called out in Acts, to serve the church, were not the first deacons. But they did everything a deacon is supposed to do, they cared for the church, they shared the gospel😇. Father, for those You’ve called from among us to serve, we ask You to put Your arms around them and their families. Oh, they need You and we need them, amen.

Thank You for Loving 🥰 Us

On shouting ground, the Holy Spirit was was with our visitation team last night. He opened doors and hearts.🎉 We were able to reach several families.❤️Jesus told us to go into all the world. We went to about 50 miles of it last night. Thank You, Father.✝️ Today, Lord, we give You the praise and glory, thank You for loving us, amen.

Forgiving Ourselves

Read this on how to start our day: by giving thanks, by forgiving others and ourselves and by praying for guidance. It sounds like a good plan to me. Especially, when God has forgiven us that we then need to forgive ourselves. Let’s try it😇. Father, thank You forgiving us, help us receive it by forgiving ourselves, amen.
