The Grave Is Not the End

Attended a funeral for the brother-in-law of one of our church family. He was a faithful servant of our Lord. At the grave side his pastor said to the family “this is not the end!” Death for the Christ follower is only a transition. At the moment of death, we are ushered into his presence. Father, today, we lift up all those in sorrow, please put Your arms around them, reassure them that the grave is not the end.โœ๏ธ Help us share this good news, amen.

Life: Moments of Joy

Had a wonderful time with the Cordele Kiwanis. They laughed at my jokes; we worshiped together; they even put up with my singing!๐Ÿ˜„ Our lives are punctuated with moments of joy and of course sadness. This will continue until we are gathered home with Him. Father, thank You for this day, this moment, help us use it wisely, thank You for it, amen.

Use the Day Wisely

Speaking to the Cordele Kiwanis Club today. I’m little nervous. I can preach a little, but not an after dinner speaker.๐Ÿ˜‡ One of our church family is an active member, maybe she’ll cheer me on. I want to seize every opportunity to share about our Lord and Saviour. My time is running short; I want to make the most of it. Father, this Your day, help us use it wisely, amen.

Share the Blessings

Are we blessed? A sweet lady came to our door yesterday with a delicious caramel cake!๐ŸŽ‰ Oh, we have such an awesome God!โœ๏ธ Watch our cantata from Sunday (saved on our website). Oh, He was in it. Go to my Facebook page and look at the pictures of the children and young people involved…big and small the blessings keep coming.๐ŸŽ‰ You know what? He wants us to share them.๐ŸŽ‰ Father, help us reach out to someone today; show us the way to share the blessings, amen.

Thank You for the Joys of Life

The LBBC Church “Christmas Party” was last night. We ate, laughed, sang, and worshipped. It’s been two years since the last one. COVID has taught us not to take anything for granted -๐Ÿ˜‡not even life itself. It is all a gift from God.โœ๏ธ Father, we thank You for the joys You give us. Help us remember they are all from You and not to take them for “granted” - amen.๐Ÿ™

Give Us Opportunities

Oh, what an awesome day of worship yesterday!๐ŸŽ‰It’s been two years since we’ve had a cantata. Oh, I had tears in my eyes, joy in my heart. We could feel the strong presence of the Lord.โœ๏ธ Now, let’s look around us at those who are sick, hurting, lonely, yes “lost”. God encourages us to reach out to them.๐Ÿ™ It’s what God has called us to do. God give us opportunities today, in Jesus’ name, amen.

The Lord Brings Comfort

Our daughter and son-in-law are with us๐ŸŽ‰what joy,โค๏ธbut our hearts are troubled for the families whose loved ones died in the recent storm. Oh Father, we ask that You put Your arms around them. Only You can help, comfort them, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Return of the Christmas Cantata

Our cantata “Take me back to Bethlehem” is this Sunday at 11 AM. We are excited; we had no cantata last year because of the virus. It has lots of favorite Christmas carols with some joyful noise (they’re letting me singโ˜น๏ธ). Santa stops by for all the children.๐Ÿ˜‡ Oh, it feels so good to be back!๐ŸŽ‰Father, thank You for Your protection, Your blessing and help.โœ๏ธ We can’t make it without You, amen. We will stream it live.

Overwhelmed?

Rainy day, my plate full today. Do you ever feel over whelmed? Maybe my age,โ˜น๏ธ but I don’t want to “rust out”. I want to wear out.๐Ÿ˜‡ Father, You’ve given us this day, woke us up and started us on our way. Help us use it wisely and strengthen us for all we have on “our plate”. We can not make it without You, amen, amen.

Help Us Reflect

Spent a couple of hours at the ER yesterday with one of our members and his wife. Oh, we’re in deep prayer for his healing. They’re faithful servants.โœ๏ธ Father, thank You for all the staff at the Crisp ER for their concern, care and helpfulness! They’re a blessing! Father, help us reflect Your love to others, even if we don’t know them.โค๏ธ We ask all in Jesus’ name, amen.

God Knows

Psalm 139: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts”. God knows us, every thought; nothing is hidden from Him. He’s the One we can talk freely with even if we’re reluctant to talk with others. Father, You know us, let Your Holy Spirit be the guiding force in our lives, amen.

Take Me Back to Bethlehem

We are so excited; our choir has our cantata this Sunday at 11 am. We were unable to have one last year because of the COVID. We are not back to full strength, but we think that 22 will sing.๐ŸŽ‰ The title is “Take me back to Bethlehem”. Oh little town of Bethlehem, where our Saviour was born. It has a special place in our hearts.โค๏ธThere was no room in the inn, but plenty of room in our hearts, oh take us back to Bethlehem. Amen.

Why Do We Have Christmas?

Foggy this morning, so I am driving slow and carefully. See you at worship. It was a busy day for our church yesterday. The men of the Brotherhood took down a ramp a family no longer needed, a Deacon and I called on some “shut-ins”, and I helped my daughter install a new CD player. Being busy is good, but we remember that it is the blood of Jesus that gives us His saving grace. That’s why we have a Merry Christmas, y’all, amen!

Nothing to Complain About

Another blessing yesterday,๐ŸŽ‰a sweet lady gave us a home baked old fashion fruit cake, โค๏ธ and still another unexpected blessing came in the mail.๐Ÿ˜‡ Oh if you hear me complaining, give me a swift kick (you know where). We have nothing to complain about. Father, thank You for the blessings, help us to bless others in Your name.๐Ÿ™ Oh what a mighty, gracious God we serve. Amen?

Blessings Are All Around Us

We are so blessed. Late yesterday a delivery van pulled up and delivered a huge poinsettia, so beautiful. It was a gift from a sweet lady in our church; another lady gave us box of pecans, and still another lady gave us a “Milky Way” cake!!  Today, we rise up and say Thank You, Father, for those of us so blessed. Help and guide us to reach out to others: to help, bless them in Your name. They’re all around us, amen.๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ
