Last night at Brotherhood, a young man (young to me) gave an awesome testimony about how God had saved him and delivered him out of addiction. He had been in prison, and now he has begun a ministry to help others. Several were with him. I was so moved; I couldn’t help it; I jumped up and started singing “what a might God we serve!!” We plan to reach out and help in this ministry.✝️ Has God delivered you? Let’s sing, “What a mighty God we serve!” Amen.

If the trumpet blast was today, what would your reaction be? One of joy or one of dismay? I truly believe the clock is nearing the midnight hour, when the cry will come and the Bridegroom (Jesus) will take His Bride (the church) away. I find myself longing for this more and more. Father, today I lift up those who are “lost”, for those who need You in their lives, amen.

A precious mother and father in our church, their precious daughter is with Jesus. Friday, I preached my 14th funeral this year. Oh, I am in tears this morning. In my morning prayer, I cried out, “Father, we claim Your promise in 1st Thessalonians 4. Please come back now, with the trumpet blast, a great shout,call out our names, raise all the righteous in Christ and take us away!! Oh Father, please put Your arms all who sorrow, surround them with Your Holy Spirit, in Jesus' name, amen”.

Funeral yesterday for a community icon. I shared that he had helped many people over the years. He always told them, “don’t tell anyone!” He was obeying the Lord’s command in Matthew 6:1 (NLT): “Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds to be admired by others. If you do, no reward from your Father in heaven!” Father, today open our hearts to help, minister to others, not for the praise of others, but for a reward in heaven, amen.

Love the messages on church signs that tell us: “life is too short to hold a grudge!”. If anyone has wronged me, I don’t remember it. For any that I have wronged, I ask for your forgiveness. Jesus taught us in the Lords prayer to forgive us our debts as we forgive others. I don’t want to stand at the judgment seat of Christ and have Him ask me about a grudge that I had against someone, do you? Father, forgive us as we forgive others, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Tonight, this country bumpkin preacher will obey God’s word in James 5:14-16. We, the “elders” of the church, will anoint and pray over a brother who is facing another surgery. He’s had many after an accident. We believe, we trust God’s word. Facing an issue too big for you to handle, trust God; He’s in charge! Father, we lift up all those who need healing and deliverance, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Thank you! Thank you for all the birthday wishes for my wife yesterday!😇 It made her day.🎉 Last night a faithful member of our church was rushed to the ER (later sent home), and then on the heels of that we received word that a long time friend had passed away✝️. Life is that way, a mixture of joy, pain, sadness.☹️ We can only hope in Jesus, who is with us always (Hebrews 13:5). Father, we commit this day to You, help us, in Jesus’ name, amen.

At coffee and prayer time with the men, I can’t eat or drink. I have labs this morning, but I can pray. As time marches on in my life, I find myself praying more and more.🙏 I need the time with the Father. Father, thank You for keeping the door always open and for never being too busy to talk with me. Brrr. There’s frost this morning. The seasons they “are” changing.😇 Genesis 8:22: “while the earth remains, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night, shall not cease”. Time change is tomorrow, ugh, but at least the clock in my old car will have the right time again!😅 As I grow older, I realize how precious each minute is. I don’t want to waste any more time. The things of real value in life are worship, time with family, friends. Thank You for these things Father; help us seize them, enjoy them before they pass by. As I travel the highways and byways, I’ve learned that people are in a hurry!!  I drive just a little under the speed limit and I get “tail gated”. I’m in their way; they’re in a hurry!! Psalm 46:10 tells us to “hurry up and know that He is God”. No, of course it says “be still and know that I am God!”. Today, let’s not just slow down but stop for a moment, and know He is God!, amen.

Chilly this morning, cats are anxious to go out☹️, but not me😇. Busy on the phone yesterday. Since Covid hit I’ve kept a log of my calls. So far 2,301 calls,😇 I’ve got a “big mouth”. Let’s use our phones and the Internet to stay in touch and to encourage. God gave us this technology. Father, today remind us to call someone today, pray with them, encourage, let’s do it, amen?

Awesome day at worship as we received a new member to worship and serve,🎉 and at choir rehearsal…believe it or not…I get to sing a solo part.😇 It’s easy to get discouraged in this pandemic. It’s changed all the “normal” patterns of worship and life. The absolute constant is the Father’s love and care for us. If His eye is on the sparrow, I know He watches us.🎉 Amen.
