God Has a Purpose for Us

One of cats went missing. We called, no response. Our daughter was going out to look for him, then he comes walking up. He had been asleep on the dryer in the laundry room.😇 We have two cats, and they think they own the place. They let us stay because we know how to run the can opener.😅Cats have a place and purpose. We were created by God, and He has a purpose for us. Let’s not be missing in action.🙏Father, guide us to Your purpose today, amen.

I’m Lifted Up

Messy rainy morning, but I’m lifted up because of answered prayers. We had our largest number in Sunday School in two years and three new members of our choir.🎉I’m quoting our son, “Dad, prayer works!” Now this morning, I have some serious, unspoken requests, for healing, deliverance, salvation. They are unspoken, but please mention them to the Father, He’ll know,🙏🙏amen!

God, the Creator

Message today is “God, the Creator”. Everything we can see and all that we can’t see came into being by the direct creation of God. We are His best creation, created a “living soul”, so that we could worship and be in relationship with Him! Father, thank You for creating and loving us. Oh Father, we ask that today Your Holy Spirit could break through before it’s too late, to the hardest heart, to be saved. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.

No Complaints

Up early (as usual), prayed, got breakfast for the ladies, and did my reads (Bible and from 3 other books). It’s my routine. I’m now drinking coffee and watching Andy Griffith😇. I am reflecting on how a loving God has forgiven me, blessed and provided for me and my family.🎉Complaints? I don’t have any. Everything perfect? No, but I want to sing, “What a Mighty God we serve”, amen.

No Resolutions

Brrr, cold weather! Hey, it’s January; here in the new year, I have no resolutions. I can’t keep them anyway, but what I am trying to do is count the blessings and answered prayers. I’ve had five in the last few days. Then the Holy Spirit reminded me of things from years ago that have come to pass now. Oh, Father God, thank You, thank You, what a mighty God we serve, amen!!

Our Little Slice of the World

Tonight, with several of our deacons, we’re going out on visitation.😇 Jesus told us to go into all the world with the “good news”. We support missionaries with our tithes and prayers, but this is our little slice of the world. So, look out here we come!  Father, please go before us, open doors and hearts, amen.

Call on Our God

Begin January Bible study tonight,🎉it’s the book of Psalms. We begin with Psalm 22. In this we see the writer go from suffering to praise,🙏read it again. Look for Jesus on the cross in it. The writer encourages us to call on “our God”! He is personal, not remote or removed from us!! Father, our God, thank You for being our God!! Amen.

God Is Still In Control

Brrr! Cold this morning.😇 Our family in Rome had light snow. Praying for those who are in the winter storm. Heat and cold, the Creator God is in control. As I grow older, I realize how absolutely we are dependent on Him, who loved us so much He sent His only Son to die for us, to save us! Father, thank You for the heat, the cold, for saving us!! In Jesus’ name, amen.

God Has a Plan

On the way to the VA in Dublin.😇 I remember my days in the Army; it seems like-no, it was a “long” time ago, 67-69. I learned many valuable lessons there. It was in Germany that God began to speak to me. I had no idea it would lead to the Ministry. Listen, God speaks in the every day things. He does have a plan for every life.✝️ Father, today, give us open minds and receptive hearts as You speak to us, amen.

Six Miles to Jesus

Day two of the New Year’s 🎉message is today “Christmas ‘Ain’t’ over!”  It’s all about the wise men who traveled a great distance, over two years to worship the “New Born King of the Jews!” The wise men were Gentiles. Jesus came for all.✝️ The religious “gurus” at the Temple wouldn’t travel six miles (the distance from Jerusalem to Bethlehem) to worship Him. How far to our place of worship? Will we travel that far? Oh, Father, call us to worship You, today, amen.

Happy New Year - 2022!

Well, Happy New Year! kissed my wife. I said first time I’ve kissed you since last year.😅 The Father has already blessed me this year; He woke me up and started me on my way.🎉 My prayer for all of us is that we will be faithful in our service, that we will be diligent in ministering to and sharing the Good News with others, ✝️ and that we don’t let “old acquaintances be forgot”. Amen!

Happy New Year’s Eve

Happy New Year, tomorrow!🎉Happiness can be dependent on circumstances. The last couple of years have been tough. But there is joy, dependent on our relationship with the Father through the Son. For those who are struggling, Psalm 30:5 reminds us: “weeping lasts for the night, but joy comes with the morning!” Soon and very soon our joy will be complete. He will return for us some glorious morning! Oh, how we long to see friends and loved ones again, that will be joy, amen.

Christmas Ain’t Over

For many Christmas is over, the tree and decorations are down, “left overs” gone, presents put away,☹️but we think the “wise men” didn’t arrive till two years after Jesus birth. The message Sunday is “Christmas ‘ain’t’ over”. We still have our nativity sets out. Maybe, it’s my age, but I want to celebrate Christ’s birthday every day. Thank You for coming for us, to deliver us. No, Christmas “ain’t” over, amen.

We Need Jesus

You never know how much we need Jesus till He’s all you have. I learned last night of a tragedy for a family that I’ve known for years. I am brokenhearted. All I can do is pray.🙏🙏Jesus, is all they’ve got. Oh Father, I deeply pray now for those whose need is so deep. Please put Your arms around them, we ask in Jesus’ name, amen.

Thank You, Father

Two of the children went home yesterday, I had tears.☹️ The other leaves today.✝️ We still have water heater problems, but I know some families who would swap problems with us.🙏 Father, thank You for guiding us, for being there for us, and for putting Your arms around us to comfort and encourage us when we want to throw our hands up in despair. Thank You Father, amen.
