The Lord Brings Comfort

Our daughter and son-in-law are with us🎉what joy,❤️but our hearts are troubled for the families whose loved ones died in the recent storm. Oh Father, we ask that You put Your arms around them. Only You can help, comfort them, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Return of the Christmas Cantata

Our cantata “Take me back to Bethlehem” is this Sunday at 11 AM. We are excited; we had no cantata last year because of the virus. It has lots of favorite Christmas carols with some joyful noise (they’re letting me sing☹️). Santa stops by for all the children.😇 Oh, it feels so good to be back!🎉Father, thank You for Your protection, Your blessing and help.✝️ We can’t make it without You, amen. We will stream it live.

Overwhelmed?

Rainy day, my plate full today. Do you ever feel over whelmed? Maybe my age,☹️ but I don’t want to “rust out”. I want to wear out.😇 Father, You’ve given us this day, woke us up and started us on our way. Help us use it wisely and strengthen us for all we have on “our plate”. We can not make it without You, amen, amen.

Help Us Reflect

Spent a couple of hours at the ER yesterday with one of our members and his wife. Oh, we’re in deep prayer for his healing. They’re faithful servants.✝️ Father, thank You for all the staff at the Crisp ER for their concern, care and helpfulness! They’re a blessing! Father, help us reflect Your love to others, even if we don’t know them.❤️ We ask all in Jesus’ name, amen.

God Knows

Psalm 139: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts”. God knows us, every thought; nothing is hidden from Him. He’s the One we can talk freely with even if we’re reluctant to talk with others. Father, You know us, let Your Holy Spirit be the guiding force in our lives, amen.

Take Me Back to Bethlehem

We are so excited; our choir has our cantata this Sunday at 11 am. We were unable to have one last year because of the COVID. We are not back to full strength, but we think that 22 will sing.🎉 The title is “Take me back to Bethlehem”. Oh little town of Bethlehem, where our Saviour was born. It has a special place in our hearts.❤️There was no room in the inn, but plenty of room in our hearts, oh take us back to Bethlehem. Amen.

Why Do We Have Christmas?

Foggy this morning, so I am driving slow and carefully. See you at worship. It was a busy day for our church yesterday. The men of the Brotherhood took down a ramp a family no longer needed, a Deacon and I called on some “shut-ins”, and I helped my daughter install a new CD player. Being busy is good, but we remember that it is the blood of Jesus that gives us His saving grace. That’s why we have a Merry Christmas, y’all, amen!

Nothing to Complain About

Another blessing yesterday,🎉a sweet lady gave us a home baked old fashion fruit cake, ❤️ and still another unexpected blessing came in the mail.😇 Oh if you hear me complaining, give me a swift kick (you know where). We have nothing to complain about. Father, thank You for the blessings, help us to bless others in Your name.🙏 Oh what a mighty, gracious God we serve. Amen?

Blessings Are All Around Us

We are so blessed. Late yesterday a delivery van pulled up and delivered a huge poinsettia, so beautiful. It was a gift from a sweet lady in our church; another lady gave us box of pecans, and still another lady gave us a “Milky Way” cake!!  Today, we rise up and say Thank You, Father, for those of us so blessed. Help and guide us to reach out to others: to help, bless them in Your name. They’re all around us, amen.🙏❤️

Come Boldly In His Presence

Asked God to help us reach someone for Him, and oh the door He has opened.🎉God wants to help us, so don’t be shy, or afraid, no matter how big it is. I’m praying now for a national figure to be saved to be another Paul the apostle! Father, we know You’re on our side; let us come boldly into Your presence. Let Your Holy Spirit be our guide, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Surrender All to God

Oh so many answered prayers over the past few days.🎉 Oh what a mighty God we serve. I was right back in the throne room this morning. Oh He keeps the door open!! Today, I am asking for healing, for deliverance. Some are in surgery, and I ask that the Holy Spirit can break through to a 14 year-old who says there’s no God.🙏 Today, Father we surrender all to You, in Jesus name, amen✝️

Let’s Trust Him

Coffee & prayer time with the men this morning.🙏 We have so many and so much to pray about.✝️ It’s so easy to get discouraged. Flooded recently with so many who are experiencing pain, mental, spiritual suffering and yes sorrow. I remember what Job replied to his wife who said “let’s just curse God and die!” Job said, “even if He slays me, yet will I trust Him”!  Let’s, pray, let’s trust Him, amen?

Ready for Christmas?

Tree is up with decorations; we think we’re ready for Christmas. Most of the presents bought (blessed). We think we’re ready for Christmas. The scribes in Jerusalem knew where the Messiah would be born, in Bethlehem (Micah5:2), but they were not ready. They wouldn’t travel six miles to worship Him. They were not ready for the first Christmas. Are we? Are we prepared to worship, to celebrate the coming of the Messiah into our world and into our lives? Merry Christmas, the Saviour is born!✝️

No Christmas?

The message today is “No Christmas?”. I’m flooded recently with Christmas memories. No Christmas, no memories, but in reality there are those who want to abolish Christmas. But no Christmas, no Lord Jesus Christ. We are celebrating His coming into our world and most importantly into our lives! Every time we wish someone Merry Christmas, we are celebrating and proclaiming His birth. To all the Scrooges, Merry Christmas!!

What Do You Want?

Getting off exit 101, I watched a man set up for a day of asking for help. He had his sign, his dog, an umbrella; the sign said, “hungry, please help!” I remembered blind Bartimaeous (Mark 10). He was a begger, who cried out to Jesus. The Lord asked, “what do you want?”, and his answer, “to see!” I’ve cried out so often to the Lord, and oh how He has blessed me. What do I want now? To preach, to teach, to reach, to comfort, that’s enough, amen.
