Love the messages on church signs that tell us: “life is too short to hold a grudge!”. If anyone has wronged me, I don’t remember it. For any that I have wronged, I ask for your forgiveness. Jesus taught us in the Lords prayer to forgive us our debts as we forgive others. I don’t want to stand at the judgment seat of Christ and have Him ask me about a grudge that I had against someone, do you? Father, forgive us as we forgive others, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Tonight, this country bumpkin preacher will obey God’s word in James 5:14-16. We, the “elders” of the church, will anoint and pray over a brother who is facing another surgery. He’s had many after an accident. We believe, we trust God’s word. Facing an issue too big for you to handle, trust God; He’s in charge! Father, we lift up all those who need healing and deliverance, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Thank you! Thank you for all the birthday wishes for my wife yesterday!😇 It made her day.🎉 Last night a faithful member of our church was rushed to the ER (later sent home), and then on the heels of that we received word that a long time friend had passed away✝️. Life is that way, a mixture of joy, pain, sadness.☹️ We can only hope in Jesus, who is with us always (Hebrews 13:5). Father, we commit this day to You, help us, in Jesus’ name, amen.

At coffee and prayer time with the men, I can’t eat or drink. I have labs this morning, but I can pray. As time marches on in my life, I find myself praying more and more.🙏 I need the time with the Father. Father, thank You for keeping the door always open and for never being too busy to talk with me. The seasons they “are” changing.😇 Genesis 8:22: “while the earth remains, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night, shall not cease”. Time change is tomorrow, ugh, but at least the clock in my old car will have the right time again!😅 As I grow older, I realize how precious each minute is. I don’t want to waste any more time. The things of real value in life are worship, time with family, friends. Thank You for these things Father; help us seize them, enjoy them before they pass by. As I travel the highways and byways, I’ve learned that people are in a hurry!!  I drive just a little under the speed limit and I get “tail gated”. I’m in their way; they’re in a hurry!! Psalm 46:10 tells us to “hurry up and know that He is God”. No, of course it says “be still and know that I am God!”. Today, let’s not just slow down but stop for a moment, and know He is God!, amen.

Chilly this morning, cats are anxious to go out☹️, but not me😇. Busy on the phone yesterday. Since Covid hit I’ve kept a log of my calls. So far 2,301 calls,😇 I’ve got a “big mouth”. Let’s use our phones and the Internet to stay in touch and to encourage. God gave us this technology. Father, today remind us to call someone today, pray with them, encourage, let’s do it, amen?

Awesome day at worship as we received a new member to worship and serve,🎉 and at choir rehearsal…believe it or not…I get to sing a solo part.😇 It’s easy to get discouraged in this pandemic. It’s changed all the “normal” patterns of worship and life. The absolute constant is the Father’s love and care for us. If His eye is on the sparrow, I know He watches us.🎉 Amen.

Trunk or Treat at Lake Blackshear Baptist Church yesterday, we reached over 100 children and their families.🎉 Thank you to our hard workers and our children’s director who planned it all.😇 We went home tired but rejoicing!🎉 The message today is “Too Late!”. The rich man in Luke 16 did the right thing. But he did it one day “too late!”. Today is the moment of opportunity. It may never come again. Whatever the Father is calling us to, let’s do it before it’s “too late”. Amen!

Attended a funeral for a young man, he had lived an awesome life. There were tears, chuckles. If a funeral can be good, it was good.✝️ It was a reminder of the brevity of life. Need to do something? Don’t put it off until tomorrow - that might not come:🙏 I want to connect with family and friends. I don’t want anything to divided us. Life is too short for petty discord. Jesus’ command is clear: “Go into all the world”. Our missionaries are doing an awesome work. Thank You for them Father. Last night a deacon and I went into 56 miles of it. It was an awesome night with great responses.🎉 Father, help us see our world, right in front of us. Help us go into it.🙏 There are many we need to reach, strengthen us; we cannot do it without You, amen.
