A Sneak Preview

At New Hope Church last night for a gospel sing with two wonderful groups, I saw many old friends and truly worshiped. Father, thank You for moments like this. Is this a glimpse of what heaven will be like? Singing praises to you, seeing old friends and family again? Oh my! Thank You for a “sneak preview”. Now today we gather in Your church for worship. Thank You for everything, amen.

Help Your Church

Biscuit with the Brotherhood this morning - praying for our revival. When asked to describe our church I say, “we love the Lord and we love people!” People of all flavors. Father, today help us reach out to all in Your name. We want all to be saved, to worship and serve You. Help Your church, we ask in Jesus’ name, amen.

Oh, How I Love Jesus

The song says it all “oh, how I love Jesus...because He first loved me!” It's amazing that despite my attitude, my thoughts, my actions - nothing can hinder His love for us. Father, we can never be worthy, but help us to be faithful and to be thankful. Today, give us the opportunity to tell just one person...just one...about Jesus! Friday - it’s your day Lord. Amen.

Father Use Us

Pain, pain, so many precious people that I know are afflicted with it. This morning Father, I lift up, I direct my prayer to you for their healing and deliverance. I ask it in the name of Jesus. At 6:30 tonight we are prayer walking one of our schools. Saturday,  9 am “biscuit with the brotherhood” as we gather to pray for our revival. All of our services are streamed live. At the App Store (it’s free) go to Sunday Streams, then enter LBBCCORDELE (all caps). Father, it’s Your day, use us, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Look for Moments of Joy

Early morning, and I can’t sleep. It’s not my conscience. Took care of that by the blood of Jesus. Spent a great day with two men of our church. We were with a deacon in our church and his wife. He had both knees done, and he is doing well. We also stopped in at Pro-Bass and S&S cafeteriašŸ˜‡. We talked a lot (I did the most... big mouth), and we prayed alot. Father, thank You for the moments of great joy that You bring in the simple things of life. Today -  look for moments of joy in the midst of the everyday things. We found them yesterday. Amen.

God Is Everything

Combined Brotherhood and WOM meeting - we heard an awesome testimony on the healing grace of the Father. I One of our men is having double knee replacement this morning, and we pray for it’s success. The older we get the more we realize that God is everything in our lives. We can’t take not even one more breath without Him. We don’t say thanks enough. Take our lives and use them Father. We are Yours, amen in Jesus’ name.

Oh What a Night

Had already had the final prayer at Sunday night bible study, and a couple said we wanted to join tonight. I called everybody back, and we sang “Amazing Grace”. They came to be part of the church family. Oh what a night! Father, thank You for continuing to amaze us with Your power, Your grace, Your love. It is truly amazing. Help us with this Monday, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Tangled Webs

Oh, what tangled webs we weave. If there’s anyway to mess up life, we’ll find it because of our inherited sin nature. Thank God that He has made a way of forgiveness. No matter how deep the sin - He never stops loving us. He is ready to forgive and restore. “When we come to ourselves.” (Luke 15 - the Prodigal Son) As we prepare to worship today, we need to be reminded of this. Thank you Father, in Jesus’ name, amen.

For Me to Live is Christ

We’re always prospecting and seeking opportunities to share about Jesus and His church. One of our members into this gave us a new lead - a family that’s just moved into our area. One of our deacons is going with me today to share with them. I get excited when we have opportunities like this. Our goal should be as Paul’s was “for me to live is Christ!” Father, go before us. Open doors and hearts in Jesus’ name, amen.

Message this Sunday - “what’s this thing called death”. Death is not the end of existence. We were created as a “living soul”. How we die is determined by how we live. “For me to live is Christ; to die is gain” - Philippians 1:21. Father, we thank You for another day of physical life; help us spend it for you - in Jesus’ name, amen.

When Is Jesus Returning?

Do I know when Jesus is returning? No, only the Father knows that. Jesus did tell us to watch for the signs of His return. As the song says - they’re appearing everywhere. I can hardly stand to watch the news anymore. It's all bad. I feel helpless, so I find myself praying for His soon return. In the meantime, we need to be busy telling all of the need to be in a right relationship with Him. Father, help us to worship, to serve you and tell others. Amen!

Small Blessings

Something’s going on. These past few days, people have stepped up and paid for my biscuit and my coffee. Happened again this morning. A cup of coffee - God’s blessings. May seem small, but I had tears in my eyes this morning when the gentleman got my coffee. Father, thank you, help me in my remaining time to preach, reach, and teach. I am blessed! Are you? Amen.

Want a Worship Experience?

Went back to my roots last night. Worshiped with the folks at Pleasant Hill Church - truly worshipped. A young lady, whose father and grandmother were there, brought the special music. A friend of many years,Tim Hall, brought the message. Awesome! Sometimes, preachers need to sit back and just listen. I did. Want a worship experience? Come tonight. You will be blessed! I was. We are in deep prayer for three small children at our church. Two are very sick. One is better and a two year old in surgery today. Please pray for them. Amen.

What Can Wash Away My Sins?

What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus! Jesus said in the garden, “Father, if possible let this cup pass from Me, nevertheless Thy will be done.” Jesus willingly drank the cup intended for me - the cup of God’s fury against sin (read rev. 14:9-10). Need something to start your Monday? Thank you, Jesus!

The Best Thing to Do

Another day of life by God’s grace and another opportunity to worship Him. Worship is the most important thing we do. We support missionaries; we help feed the hungry; we visit people to tell them about Jesus, but it all flows out of worship. It all begins with worship. Our Sunday school lesson today is all about worship. The importance has not changed from the Old to the New Testament. See you as we do the best thing - worship. Amen.
